Contemporary dance combines elements of ballet, jazz, and modern dance to create a style that is expressive, versatile, and grounded in movement artistry. Classes focus on technique, flexibility, strength, control, musicality, and emotional expression while encouraging dancers to explore creativity and individuality.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Students participate in warm-ups, center work, floor work, improvisation, and across-the-floor combinations designed to develop coordination, balance, fluidity, and performance quality. Dancers learn to connect movement with music and storytelling while building confidence and strong technical foundations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Contemporary classes provide a positive, encouraging environment where students are challenged technically and artistically as they continue to grow into well-rounded performers. Students must be in level 6 or 7 Lyrical for the fall 2026 season to take this class.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
*Students need the Director’s Approval to take leveled classes.
